Hello, I’m Theresa.
A lifelong love of children, learning, and the stories that bring us together.
A teacher’s heart, on every page.
Theresa Borst was born and raised in Michigan. She spent 22 years teaching and owning two Christian preschools, sharing her love of learning with more than 500 children. With a background in Early Child Development, she treasures the moment a child’s face lights up with a new understanding.
She often told her students, “Someday I will write a book — and you can too if you ever want to.” Now, that someday has become a story for families to share.
The book was inspired by a beloved teacher, Ms. Bridgett, whose classroom phrase was “I love you like a donut — it goes round and round and never stops.” With Ms. Bridgett’s blessing, Theresa built a mama-bear and little-cub story around that never-ending love.
Theresa now lives in Florida with her husband and loves visiting her five children and six grandchildren in Colorado, Ohio, and Michigan. Family is at the heart of everything she does. She wants every child who reads her books to feel loved.
THE WORDS THAT STAY WITH US
It started with a classroom phrase.

Ms. Bridgett’s words became the heart of this story. With her blessing, Theresa gave that simple expression of love a mama bear, a little cub, and a place on the page.

Theresa said those words to her preschool students long before her own book was published. After sharing her love of learning with more than 500 children, she hopes her story reminds young readers that their ideas matter, too.
